We offer exciting and professional surf lessons for all levels, whether you’re a beginner looking to catch your first wave or an advanced surfer refining your skills. Our expert instructors are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring a safe and fun surf experience. Our surf lesson in Bali are designed for easy, enjoyable learning. During your lesson you will learn basic surf skills, such as paddling, taking off, riding a wave, surf safety and surf etiquette. Stand up guarantee, you will be able to surf by yourself after the lesson. Our Surf Services: Private Surf Lessons, Group Surf Lessons, Kids Surf Lessons, Family Surf Lessons, Surf Trip around Bali. We also offer custom high-quality surfboards for daily, weekly or monthly rent.

UMAR

Hey, I’m Umar – the guy behind the team! Surfing in Bali is a must, and I’m here to make sure you have the best time doing it. I love meeting new people, sharing laughs, and maybe even a cold beer at sunset after a good session. My goal? To help you fall in love with surfing and Bali, just like I did.

JOEL

Meet Joel – our big-hearted Big Boy! Born and raised in Medewi, he’s been surfing since he could walk. His favorite spot? Sumbul – it's like his backyard. Inspired by Clay Marzo, Joel brings pure passion and fun to every lesson. He’s more than your instructor – he’s your surf buddy.

BAKTI

Here’s Bakti – our high-energy, always-smiling skate-surf machine. Also from Sumbul, he grew up chasing waves and winning contests. His hero is Gabriel Medina, and his dream waves are as big as his personality. If you’re looking for a fun, motivated coach, Bakti’s your guy.

AGUS

And last but definitely not least – Agus! Known for his jokes, good vibes, and infectious laugh, Agus makes every surf session unforgettable. He’s from Medewi too and loves Bingin and Airport Reef. With Agus, learning to surf is always a good time.

We offer high-quality surfboards with a variety of types and sizes – from beginner soft tops and single fins to nose riders, performance longboards and mid-length boards. Prices start from IDR 70,000.00 depends on how long you going to rent the board.

Medewi Surf Spot Overview

Medewi is a mellow, left-hand point break with a boulder bottom, offering some of the longest rides in Bali—up to 800 meters on good days. It’s a more relaxed and less crowded alternative to Kuta, Seminyak, or Canggu, though it’s a long drive from the airport.

A fun right-hand beach break is just 5 minutes west of Medewi.

Can Beginners Surf Medewi?
Medewi breaks gently, but it’s not ideal for total beginners due to tricky water access and the need to steer to avoid rocks. A surf coach is recommended for novices.

Is Medewi Good for Intermediates?
Yes. Medewi’s slow, soft waves make it perfect for intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.

Final Thoughts
With long rides, fewer crowds, and a peaceful village vibe, Medewi is ideal for goofy footers, longboarders, and anyone seeking laid-back surfing. It’s one of the few spots surfable during Nyepi and offers consistent waves year-round.

Umar is one of the best surf coaches I’ve ever hadSurfing with Umar was a total game-changer. I’ve had a few surf lessons before, but nothing even comes close to the experience with him. From the first moment, you feel like you’re in the best hands – not only is he incredibly experienced (he’s won a bunch of competitions!), but he teaches purely because he loves it. And that passion shows in every session.He’s got this amazing mix of knowledge, patience, and humor. He makes you feel super comfortable in the water, gives really clear, helpful feedback, and always brings good energy. Whether you’re just starting out or trying to level up your skills, Umar adapts the lesson perfectly to you and what you want to get out of it.Also – he’s just a legend. Fun, relaxed, and always up for a laugh or a good chat after the session.

My very first surfing lesson. After long investigation, i found a surfing school, but they dident have time, and they arranged replacement.I was bumped about it, nervous even. My first impression was: Hmm.. Young guy, little wild, nothing professional, is it even safe?But after the first lesson, i was hooked. I was convinced, it was so much fun, and i switched boards so fast. Before i knew it, i was going low, choosing left or right, all the way to the end, and big smiles only.My daughter surfed also, but only in Europe. As i trusted Umar, it was time to push her to the next level and he did. Letting her surf at many different spots, teached her how to read the waves, duck dive and she improved beautifully.To us, he is more then only a surfing instructor, more then a friend. He’s family, because he always take care of us, in and outside of the water.Umar is a very good in what he does, so stop searching, book him for beginner and next level lessons. It will always be a positive, fun and very safe learning experience, for adults and the young guns!

I have done surf sessions with many different coaches but without a doubt Omar has made the difference 💙He knows Medewi, its spots and the ocean perfectly, which means he always knows when and where to take you depending on your surfing level. I would like to recommend Umar as an excellent surf teacher. I surfed with him at Medewi Main Point for three days and progressed from an 8.0 board to a 6.5. I’m really happy that I was able to improve so much in such a short time. Many thanks to Umar for his help, lessons, and video analysis after each session. (He also arranged the video recording, so I now have great memories from Medewi.) I’m really sad that my trip to Medewi is over—I wish I could continue learning surfing with Umar!
